Description

At the California Digital Library (cdlib.org) you can do the best work of your life while still having a life.

As the Senior Product Manager for Metadata Services for the Discovery and Delivery program, you will have the opportunity to fully exercise your product and project management skills. This position primarily manages the homegrown Zephir product, the record and metadata ingest system for HathiTrust. The position also manages much smaller scale products as they are needed for use within the California Digital Library. While the Product Manager does not supervise any positions, it does coordinate the work of the Zephir team of two developers and one metadata analyst. The position also closely coordinates and collaborates with the HathiTrust staff to deliver product improvements. You will work with UC-wide and national committees.  Plus you will be a key member of the Discovery and Delivery team which is currently working on new initiatives in areas like AI and controlled digital lending.

As a member of the California Digital Library (CDL) staff you will be joining a diverse, collegial team of 70+ library, publishing, and computing professionals known for creating innovative library services.  As a member of CDL’s Discovery and Delivery group, you will be joining a team-oriented, fun group of 14 library and computing professionals.  You will also be joining the University of California whose students, teachers and researchers constantly challenge you to do your best as they work at the leading edge of knowledge.

The California Digital Library is a unit within the University of California’s Office of the President (ucop.edu).  UCOP’s offices are located in downtown Oakland. This position is eligible for on-site, remote, or hybrid work arrangements.  You must be a California resident or plan to become one upon taking this position.
