The University of Wisconsin-Madison Libraries is seeking candidates for a Research Services Archivist as part of the Diversity Resident Librarian Program. This residency will offer opportunities to support research services, instruction, and outreach within University Archives and Records Management. Specifically, the Research Services Archivist will provide expert research support to students, faculty/staff, alumni, and the public, among other public service-related duties, as well as develop leadership and management skills. They will collaborate with staff to create policies, procedures, and documentation to define consistent approaches to inclusive and welcoming patron services and spaces that reflect national best practices and standards. The Research Services Archivist will have opportunities to find innovative ways to incorporate archival collections and primary sources into the curriculum by collaborating on and leading instruction sessions and class visits. This position is critical to our goal of providing the highest quality of inclusive public services and research support.

This is a hybrid work position. Expected onsite 80% and remote 20% with onsite public services and instruction responsibilities a priority. Hybrid work percentages are negotiable.

This is a terminal, 36 month appointment. This position has the possibility to be extended or converted to an ongoing appointment based on need and/or funding
