Position and Responsibilities:

The Georgia State University Library welcomes to our Dunwoody campus team an innovative, collegial, and service-oriented librarian to: (1) provide in-person and online reference and consultation services; (2) design and facilitate course-integrated instruction and resource guides; (3) assist with developing the collection; and (4) actively engage with the faculty, staff and students on campus and surrounding community.
The librarian is a member of the library faculty (non-tenure track), holds faculty rank, engage in service and scholarly activities as outlined in the University Library’s faculty guidelines. The librarian may serve as a liaison librarian to one or more academic or university departments depending on interest, education, and background. There are many opportunities to explore and expand one’s skills and experiences within our collaborative and supportive environment.

- ALA-accredited master’s degree in information/library science
- Understanding of the rapidly changing role of the academic library and librarian in higher education
- Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with culturally and economically diverse library users and colleagues
- Ability to work flexible schedule, including occasional evening and weekend hours
- Demonstrated record of outreach and/or programming
- Experience providing library instruction and research experience to first and second year students
- Experience teaching or providing library instruction
- Working knowledge of new and emerging technologies and their impact on libraries and higher education
- Record of professional service and scholarly accomplishments

Salary and Rank
The salary range for this faculty position is $47,500 - $50,000 annually. Appointment at a faculty rank [Instructor/Assistant Professor], on a contract renewal basis.
