Mission and Culture
As the Alaska Division of Libraries, Archives and Museums, we promote lifelong learning for Alaskans through Alaska’s diverse history, art, and culture, while this section serves as the primary research library for state government. This position plays a key role in a forward-thinking team that implements both the Division’s and Library’s missions by providing free, equal, and continual access to information, positive user experiences, and support of good governance and lifelong learning.

Benefits of Joining Our Team
As part of our small team serving State employees, researchers, and the general public, you'll have an opportunity to make a difference in almost every aspect of Alaska and Alaskans' lives. Mindful of this, the team is passionate about the work we do and consistently strives to help each other in working towards this goal. In-person public service is an important part of what we do, but some telework may be available.

The Working Environment You Can Expect
The Alaska State Library is located in the state capital of Juneau, an extraordinarily beautiful location in Southeast Alaska, with a small-town feel but big-city arts and culture just steps away from amazing hikes, skiing, diving and other outdoor activities. The Alaska State Library is located in the Andrew P. Kashevaroff Building, a modern building in a prime downtown location, with high-quality environmental controls and plenty of room for social distance.
