The
UWM Libraries seek an experienced, collaborative, and forward-thinking individual to lead an Archives Department that is highly valued at
UWM and in the Milwaukee community. The department head is responsible for developing a vision, setting and communicating priorities, and executing strategies relating to the challenges and opportunities facing
UWM archives and records management, the manuscripts collection, and the Milwaukee Area Research Center. They are also responsible for the department’s daily operations and major functions, including collection development, technical and preservation services, access services, user services, outreach and digital initiatives, and donor relations. Establishes and maintains contacts with faculty, researchers, students, and donors, as well as develops collaborative partnerships across
UWM and with the local community. Assesses and improves departmental programs, services, policies, and processes. Collaborates with other library units and administration on digital initiatives, preservation, space planning, and other issues. Reports to the Assistant Director of Libraries for Archives and Special Collections. This is a supervisory position with responsibilities for helping staff to achieve excellence in their professional roles.
