Description

As a Supervisory Archivist, you will:

  • Implement the program for establishing and maintaining physical and intellectual control over Federal accessioned electronic records. This includes oversight of the information systems and databases used for identifying archival electronic records and tracking them through the archival lifecycle.
  • Ensure the active participation of Branch staff in all phases of the lifecycle of the records, including coordinating with Federal Records Programs on the Branch's appropriate role in records appraisals, records management evaluations, records management policy, and records management training. This includes playing a lead role in the use of ERA 2.0 in support of the transfer and processing of archival electronic records.
  • Determine the need for, plan, and evaluate materials that support the description of newly accessioned electronic records, including technical documentation and metadata. Ensure that Branch staff support the project work that is needed to support access. Consider long range plans and outcomes.
  • Develop and implement work plans focused on outreach to Federal agencies on transferring overdue electronic records to NARA's custody.
