Description

The River Campus Libraries (RCL) of University of Rochester (UR) seeks a creative, collaborative and forward-looking leader to direct the dynamic portfolio of Science and Engineering Libraries and Research Initiatives. Reporting to the Assistant Dean level, the incumbent is a member of the Leadership Team and has an organization-wide scope.
The Director leads a team of highly-skilled staff responsible for science and engineering libraries and RCL initiatives that underpin UR’s research enterprise. The incumbent will ensure that RCL’s science and engineering programs, projects, and spaces are grounded in rich insights of faculty, researcher, and student academic needs, while also supporting transdisciplinary learning and research. In close collaboration with RCL and UR colleagues, the Director designs and implements research data management and sharing, curriculum support, and research intelligence operations that deepen support for student research and learning and enhance institutional research productivity and impact.
The incumbent will be responsible for shepherding a new slate of data services, bolstered by two inaugural professional positions (Data Curator and Reproducibility Librarian), and bringing together a full team of STEM-based liaison librarians, a data team of three, and a data analyst as a key resource for the library’s collaboration with UR’s new Office for Data Insights.
