The University of Alabama School of Library and Information Studies (SLIS) seeks a faculty member for a full-time, tenure-track position to begin August 16, 2019 at the rank of assistant professor.

We are seeking candidates with research, teaching, and service interests in digital media in areas such as:

• Digital media technologies, including linked data, Web archiving, digital preservation, or open archival information systems;
• Digital curation methods, including community-driven, post-custodial, collective memory, or sustainable digital archival approaches.

The successful candidate will have an opportunity to shape the character and direction of the School as it continues to integrate the traditions of librarianship, archives, and information studies in the context of new and emerging technologies. Our digital media research, teaching, and service efforts are supported with a million dollar+ gift to SLIS, and we are currently in conversation with various partners for digital media internship placements.

Only registered members can apply for jobs.
