Description
The Wisconsin Historical Society seeks a versatile and dynamic Digital Imaging Coordinator to oversee imaging and staffing in the Digital Lab, which includes overhead cameras, flatbed scanners (large-format, standard, and negative), DSLR cameras, sheet feed scanners, microfilm scanner, and a 3D scanner to digitize the Society’s unique collection materials. The Digital Imaging Coordinator will make consistent use of established digitization standards, metadata standards, and technical guidelines for creating the highest quality digital assets for long term preservation. In collaboration with the Digital Production manager, the Digital Imaging Coordinator will oversee the work being completed by two limited term employees (LTEs) and a team of work study students.
Qualifications

Minimally qualified candidate will have experience in all of the following:
- Experience in using digital cameras to capture photographs of materials
- Experience using professional level digitization equipment in a production environment.
- Demonstrable understanding of still image capture, including knowledge of digitization standards and best practices for digitization of a variety of analog mediums.
- Demonstrated ability to identify quality issues with digitized and born-digital image files.
- Experience using strong organizational and project management skills, including maintaining statistics and progress tracking.
- Experience using project management software (i.e. Asana, Trello, etc.)
In addition to minimum qualifications, a well-qualified candidate will additionally have experience in one of the following areas:
- Experience using Golden Thread software in a production environment.
- Experience with Capture One software in a production environment.
- Experience with 3D scanning and image processing.
- Experience working with special and/or archival collections, including experience handling fragile materials.
