Union is preparing its students for multiple tomorrows. To build on our strategic offerings, one area of focus is increasing our digital collections and making them available in multiple formats, ensuring many levels of access and ensuring sustainability and preservation of materials. We seek a technology-savvy collaborator who enjoys new challenges and can help us to sustain current activities and contribute to new projects and services. In this position, you will help to determine our next path for creation and access to digital collections for teaching, learning, and scholarship. You will also work closely with library colleagues, faculty, and students to bring digital projects to life.

The Digital Collections Librarian manages the intake, maintenance, and sustainability of digitized materials that support the Schaffer Library digital collections program. As part of the Content & Digital Library Systems department, the incumbent works closely with colleagues to manage selected digital repository and digital preservation platforms, ensuring both a high degree of functionality, and that digital objects are available for research use in a variety of formats. This librarian serves as a resource for repository development and standards, and ensures that digitized and born-digital objects can be curated and maintained for short- and long-term access.

We seek applicants that love libraries and technology, and are excited about repositories, digital preservation, and bringing new collections to life. Applicants that meet minimum education/experience qualifications and can briefly address other aspects of the position are encouraged to apply.
