You'll be at the forefront of leveraging cutting-edge cognitive science techniques, to both (i) enhance the study experience for millions of learners worldwide, and (ii) make our content more accessible to anyone searching for knowledge across the internet.
This is a full-time remote position with occasional travel for collaborative team activities -- although we would prefer a candidate in the New York or Seattle area. The role may potentially begin with a part-time and/or contract "trial period" before moving full-time, with eligibility for a 401k retirement plan.

- Add & manage new database tags for popular subjects, inspired by common ontologies
- Propose catalog restructurings to optimize user & search engine paths to core content
- Analyze various content pages' SEO performance and constantly optimize metadata
- Maintain detailed documentation on Brainscape's catalog curation practices
- Recommend improvements to database or tag structure to facilitate future curation
- Advise UX team & data team on how best to collect such new tags from users
- Prepare for eventual segmentation of catalog into other languages & countries
- Identify strategic opportunities for improving our content coverage
- Assist with research, creation, organization, and editing of new educational content
Qualifications
- 2-5+ years experience in an information curation role(s) (or education equivalent)
- Strong organizational skills; passion for organizing the world's knowledge
- Exposure to, and curiosity about, a wide range of topics and languages
- Ability (and preference) to work independently on long projects
- Entrepreneurial spirit; confidence in proposing and pursuing new unsolicited projects
- Patience to work with primitive tools, while helping shape more scalable infrastructure
- Proficiency in spreadsheets (for both data analysis and 'string' transformations)
- Experience with SEO tools such as Google Analytics and Google Search Console
- [Optional] Familiarity with SQL; ability to write (or learn) basic queries
- [Optional] A degree in Library & Information Science or a similar field
