Position Summary
The Digital Asset Manager is responsible for supporting the management and evolving use of a new digital asset management system (DAMS) at WHS. This position will champion the DAMS, build awareness and ensure delivery of value to the organization through development of agency-wide standards and procedures. The role provides leadership and collaborates with multiple cross-functional teams in administration of the digital asset management program.
The Digital Asset Manager is responsible for coordinating the transition of WHS’s digital assets from existing systems and maintaining the DAMS post transition. This includes, but is not limited to, migration planning and prioritization, metadata configuration, assignment of roles and permissions, user onboarding, access controls, collection building, and user training. The position is responsible for ensuring that all digital assets have clear standards, are managed properly, and integrate with other applications through sustainable workflows. The position will enable each team interfacing with the DAMS to operate independently and autonomously by leveraging established best practices, documentation, internal support, and for the DAMS we establish to bring intellectual control, transparency, and access to high value digital content for a variety of internal and external uses.
Qualifications

Minimally qualified candidates will have experience in all of the following:
- Extensive experience with digital asset management or media asset management.
- Working knowledge of object, library and archival content management systems, metadata, and strategies for managing born digital content.
- Experience with data governance, standards, and process development.
- Successful experience coordinating large collaborative projects with multiple partners.
- Experience in teaching and training staff and giving presentations on digital asset management to partners
In addition to minimum qualifications, a well-qualified candidate will additionally have experience in one of the following areas:
- Experience with OrangeDAM.
- Experience with large scale systems migrations.
- Experience with batch scripting and/or use of command line processing
- Experience with Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence applications for enhancing description of digital assets.
