Stanford University Libraries seeks a resourceful and collaborative project coordinator with experience in data mapping and transformation to join efforts to build the Digital Library of the Middle East, a platform to preserve and provide access to cultural heritage resources from across the Middle East and North Africa. This initiative will create the first seamlessly interoperable, large-scale digital library of cultural artifacts from the region, and is built in collaboration between the Council on Library and Information Resources and Stanford University Libraries.
The Data Manager and Project Coordinator will work within Stanford University Libraries' distinguished and widely-recognized team of nearly 65 software developers, information architects, user experience designers, digital production specialists, devops engineers, system administrators, project managers and academic technologists with combined decades of expertise in building tools and infrastructure in support of research and teaching. The Stanford Libraries is a leader in the global library and cultural heritage technology communities, leads and contributes to open source projects, and helps develop and contribute to open standards.
Successful candidates will bring knowledge, experience, and an passion for inclusive projects focused on the intersection of social good and cultural heritage technology. You will help us incorporate materials from known data providers and work with project staff to solicit and acquire materials from new contributors, map and transform data related to manuscripts, images, maps, artifacts and other material, assist with policy development, and coordinate communication across institutional and international borders.

This is a fixed-term position through June 30, 2020 in Stanford Library's Digital Library Systems and Services group based on the main campus with the possibility for renewal. This position is posted at the level of Project Management Specialist - IT.
