Business Librarian

Job Summary

As the Business Librarian you will work directly with students, faculty, staff, and faculty business librarians to support institutional and school teaching and learning goals. This includes developing instructional materials, tutorials, research guides, videos, and conducting introductory-level information literacy instruction. You will also work with our IMPACT team to help faculty include information literacy in the courses they are redesigning through the program. The Business Librarian will provide reference support and consultations, including in-person and digital reference.

This position will be on campus at Purdue University with a pay range between $45,400 - $63099.96/year.

Libraries faculty and staff are deeply involved in information literacy instruction and instructional design, development of new learning and lab spaces, scholarly communication, data management, and global outreach. Libraries faculty and staff have expanded their collaborative endeavors with departments across the university in integrating information literacy into the core curriculum.

What We're Looking For:

Education and Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Library Science (ALA accredited or equivalent)
  • Experience or interest in delivering effective information literacy instruction and research-support
  • Experience and/or interest in business librarianship

 

Skills Needed:

  • Demonstrated interest in the application of current and emerging technologies to meet the changing needs of users
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and intercultural skills, and the ability to prioritize and adjust in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member in a dynamic environment and on a variety of simultaneous projects
  • Commitment to diversity and to promoting a multicultural environment for learning
