This AUL is a member of the senior leadership team at the University of Georgia Libraries. The position is responsible to the University Librarian and Associate Provost for leading and advising on matters relating to the development and implementation of the mission, goals, and broad policy directions for the University of Georgia Libraries. The Associate University Librarian provides vision and advances high priority initiatives with an emphasis on including research, student success, information literacy, user experience, discovery, and access with direct oversight of several library units and departments, including Access Services, Research and Instruction, Interlibrary Loan, the Miller Learning Center, the McBay Science Library and Music, Art and Education branch libraries. This is a newly developed position, created as an initial step in an ongoing reorganization. This process began in the fall of 2022 and is being overseen by a working group made up of people from across the organization. The group is considering how the UGA Libraries can grow and change to better meet the needs and priorities of UGA faculty, staff, and students. The AUL for Learning Services and Academic Engagement will play a critical role in recruiting key leadership positions, determining how the UGA Libraries will realign to meet the emerging needs of UGA’s 40,000+ students, the burgeoning research enterprise and the changing landscape of higher education.

Salary will be commensurate with experience, starting at $135,000.  UGA librarians are non-tenured faculty members.  UGA offers an attractive benefits program including a choice of health and retirement plans, dental plan, vision plan, tuition remission, paid relocation, 21 days annual leave, 12 days sick leave, and 13 paid holidays
