As the Associate Director of California Digital Library’s Discovery and Delivery program, you will have the opportunity to fully exercise your leadership, strategic planning, people management and project management skills.  You will use these skills to provide leading edge digital library services to libraries at the ten University of California campuses and to national and international library consortia.  You will manage a team of six librarians.  These librarians work with campus partners on all aspects of the University of California’s Alma/Primo shared ILS. They also join with our consortial partners working on computerized systems to build the HathiTrust catalog and to run the WEST shared print program. In addition, you will work with UC-wide and national committees to develop new library services.  Plus you will be a key member of the Discovery and Delivery management team working on new initiatives in areas like AI and controlled digital lending.

As a member of the California Digital Library (CDL) staff you will be joining a diverse, collegial team of 70+ library, publishing, and computing professionals known for creating innovative library services.  As a member of CDL’s Discovery and Delivery group, you will be joining a team-oriented, fun group of 14 library and computing professionals.  You will also be joining the University of California whose students, teachers and researchers constantly challenge you to do your best as they work at the leading edge of knowledge.

The salary range for this position is $150,000 - $162,000 commensurate with experience, plus attractive benefits.

The California Digital Library is a unit within the University of California’s Office of the President (  UCOP’s offices are located in downtown Oakland. This position is eligible for on-site, remote, or hybrid work arrangements.  You must be a California resident or plan to become one upon taking this position.
