SMU Libraries seeks a forward thinking, innovative, natural collaborator to join the SMU Libraries’ leadership team as the first Associate Dean for Digital Strategy (AD DS). Reporting to the Dean of SMU Libraries, the AD DS will join a leadership team well-positioned to implement bold ideas and strategic aspirations. The AD DS will be pivotal in developing a comprehensive, libraries-wide, digital strategy to thoughtfully manage our technology infrastructure and cultivate our library virtual presence, digital scholarship support, and research services objectives. The AD DS will oversee the SMU Libraries’ discovery, digital collections, and systems (e.g., Alma/Primo, Omeka, ContentDM, Springshare) unit (12 FTE total), which includes the Norwick Center for Digital Solutions (nCDS).  With their team, the incumbent will have the unique opportunity to develop digital strategies that address campus research and scholarship aspirations and position SMU Libraries to integrate evolving technology changes in the digital teaching, learning, research, and collections spaces in an agile and responsive manner.

SMU is a nationally ranked private research university in Dallas, TX, with eight degree-granting schools. SMU Libraries includes six libraries on the main campus and one library at our satellite location in Taos, NM.
