The David Rumsey Map Center (The Center) and Stanford Libraries is seeking a three-fourth time, three year fixed term, Assistant Rare Map Librarian to provide outreach and manage projects related to the Center. The person in this public facing position will work closely with the Head of the Center to leverage its technology to teach classes and workshops, support research, and run the exhibition program at the Center. He or she will work with other geospatial and map staff to bring to light new and existing collections for use by scholars at Stanford and beyond. The incumbent will work closely with the Head to stay abreast of trends in cartographic information and will be a forward thinking, technologically savvy individual that is willing to partner with his or her colleagues to experiment with non-traditional ways of incorporating cartographic knowledge in the academy.
