Purpose: This position is part of a small team that works collaboratively to design and implement assessment strategies that allow UT libraries to make well-informed decisions, communicate our impact, and continuously improve.
- Coordinates with other library units to collect and analyze quantitative and qualitative data in order to identify and prioritize evolving user needs and formulate recommendations for improvement.
- Creates data visualizations to communicate assessment results.
- Assists with data collection and report preparation for various organizations (ARL, ACRL, IPEDS, etc.) and from a variety of platforms (Alma/Primo, LibInsight, Qualtrics, etc.).
- Consults with library colleagues about following best practices and implementing effective methods for assessment planning, data gathering and analysis, and ways to use findings that drive continuous improvement.
- Contributes to the development and maintenance of tools and processes to collect and store library data.
- Designs and leads assessment training sessions for colleagues and campus constituents as needed.
- Serves on Libraries and University committees and working groups, and participates in local, state and/or national professional organizations.
- Other related functions as assigned.
- MLS or equivalent.
- Demonstrated understanding of applied quantitative and qualitative assessment methodologies.
- Expertise in relevant software applications, including Excel or statistical analysis software.
- Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated ability to manage complex workflows.
- Strong analytical and innovative problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and efficiently.
- Demonstrated willingness to respond to opportunities with initiative and creative energy.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
- Knowledge and understanding of key issues and trends that affect academic libraries and higher education.
- Experience using data visualization tools and techniques to communicate assessment results.
- Experience analyzing data generated from integrated library systems and other relevant platforms.
- Experience in project management, data analysis, and formulating recommendations for improvement.
- Demonstrated potential for leadership in university, state, national, and international programs and initiatives.
- Experience working appropriately with sensitive and confidential materials and situations.
- Demonstrated experience with relationship building, internally and externally.

Salary Range: $52,000+ depending on qualifications

Work Shift: Monday-Friday, between the hours of 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. as arranged with manager. Flexible work arrangements available with up to 3 remote days/week.
