Description

The Digital Humanities Librarian, situated in the Computational Methods and Data Department within the Research and Learning portfolio at Yale Library, designs and implements services to support digital humanities research at Yale. Under the supervision of the Research Technology Lead, the incumbent is a user-focused professional dedicated to aiding scholars in learning concepts and methods, acquiring and managing data, and applying best practices for digital humanities research.

Collaborating with subject librarians, geospatial and data librarians, multiple academic departments, and other stakeholders, the Digital Humanities Librarian promotes the use of advanced digital humanities methods, including text mining, artificial intelligence, network analysis, and digital exhibitions through consultations, instructional sessions, and training materials. This role is vital for supporting data education, helping users in the arts and humanities, and those in other departments with an interest in the methods of digital humanities to understand and utilize data effectively.
