The University of Georgia Libraries seeks a forward-looking and collaborative individual for the position of Collection Analysis and Open Strategies Coordinator. Reporting to the Director of Collections, the position will be part of a newly established Content Strategy team, including four disciplinary-focused Collection Coordinators and a Collections Support Specialist. This team is responsible for developing strategy and stewarding the UGA Libraries’ significant investment in research collections and open scholarship.
The Collection Analysis and Open Strategies Coordinator will direct UGA Libraries’ collections analysis projects, implementing evidence-based approaches and processes to analyze, acquire, assess, and evaluate resources. Working closely with the Director of Collections and members of Content Strategy, as well as with other colleagues from Collections, Acquisitions, Scholarly Communications, Academic Engagement, and other library and campus units, this position also provides strategic direction for the Libraries’ support of Open Scholarship, Open Access collections, and open publishing initiatives by evaluating opportunities and making recommendations for redirecting collections investments to bolster open research.
This position includes the supervision of a Collections Support Specialist who will support collections analysis projects by gathering and organizing physical and electronic collections data from multiple library and vendor-based systems and providing reports to help inform UGA Libraries’ collection strategies.
