Description

The Digital Public Library of America seeks a respected and knowledgeable contributor to help it further its mission to embolden and energize libraries in the digital age.

Initiated in 2010, the Digital Public Library of America (DPLA) works with place-based cultural organizations throughout the country with a shared goal of providing access to a rich and diverse collection of materials. DPLA leads a national collaborative effort to provide libraries with a free, open, library-controlled platform for managing their ebook and audiobook services and an ebook marketplace, exchange.dp.la. DPLA’s ebooks work is supported by a grant from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation.

The ebooks outreach representative will lead DPLA’s efforts to improve access to ebooks, audiobooks, and other published digital materials for libraries and their users. Skills:

Communications, including interpersonal, written, oral communication and presentation skills
Ability to efficiently collect, analyze and evaluate information that will help define library goals and needs
Self-directed initiative, ability to multi-task and effectively manage time and prioritize and organize projects
Education:
4-year degree or equivalent

The ideal candidate will also possess the ability to work collaboratively in a distributed, team-based environment; excellent communication skills and strong customer service orientation. The position will require moderate travel.

DPLA is strongly committed to diversity in all of its forms. We provide a full set of benefits, including health care, life and disability insurance, and a retirement plan. Starting salary is commensurate with experience.
